AnaLight® CrystaLight™

"Shed New Light on Crystallisation Processes"

The AnaLight® CrystaLight™ is designed to apply DPI's unique optical measurements to the detection and understanding of the earliest phases of protein crystallisation processes.

In simple terms, the AnaLight® CrystaLight™ is a 'molecular microscope' whose quantitative structural measurements can be compared directly with complementary techniques such as X-ray crystallography, circular dichroism and NMR spectroscopy, whilst also being capable of affinity and kinetic mass measurements at higher sensitivity than first-generation optical and acoustic biosensor technologies.

Key features:
  • Simultaneous surface imaging on two independent flow channels
  • Contrast measurements provide key information on the onset of crystallisation
  • Twin flow channels give parallel monitoring of crystallisation for control and comparison
  • Independent sample loading and flow rate control to each flow cell
  • Open fluidic design allows user-defined optimisation based on applications
  • Software controlled sample injection and flow control for flexibility and precision at low volumes
  • Accurate temperature control and rapid temperature stabilisation
Key functions:
  • Search crystallisation space without the need for optically visible crystals on two parallel measurement channels
  • Software gives option of automated reference channel subtraction when running parallel control experiments
  • Contrast measurements distinguish easily between protein crystallisation and other macromolecular processes, such as aggregation and precipitation
  • Provides a unique information set for the detection of crystallisation at the early nucleation stage, the onset of the crystallisation process
  • Detects the onset of crystallisation up to 100x faster than polarised microscopy
  • Provides the information to monitor crystallisation processes and the applications flexibility to develop and optimise crystallisation conditions in real time
