Farfield Group Press Releases
07 Jan 2010 - Farfield Deploy DPI in Protein Manufacture
Farfield deploy Dual Polarisation Interferometry in protein manufactureFarfield have secured a Joint Industry Project supported by the Department of Business Innovation and Skills (DIUS) through the National Measurement Office's Measurement for Innovators Programme. Farfield are collaborating with the UK’s National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and with University College London (UCL). The Project objectives are to define and characterise Farfield’s sensor surfaces with the aim of developing validated protocols for near and in line biopharmaceutical manufacture quality control applications. The Project gives Farfield access to some of the world’s best surface characterisation tools and biopharmaceutical manufacturing expertise. Already the project has identified enhanced cleaning and packaging protocols for sensors and quantified antibody capture surfaces for direct analysis of proteins in reactor broth. This brings Farfield’s vision of introducing direct conformational analysis of proteins as they are manufactured one step closer to reality.
