Farfield Group Press Releases
01 Mar 2002 - Farfield awarded grant to develop 'Nanometre' scale - analytical systems
Farfield Sensors Ltd (Manchester, UK) have been awarded a contract under the European Commission TRIALS program, together with NMRC, Cork, Ireland to develop advanced microsystems technology. This project will combine Farfield's proprietary detection platform - dual waveguide interferometry, with the microfluidic capabilities of NMRC to provide novel and advanced analytical systems.Farfield Sensors founder and Project Co-ordinator, Dr Neville Freeman commented "This is a prestigious award which we are very pleased to receive. It offers a wonderful opportunity to advance analytical chemistry on the 'nanometre' scale, which is a serious driver in the world of protein research today."
Farfield already provide the AnaLight® range of analytical instruments, based on the use of dual evanescent wave interferometry. This novel platform technology for the real time quantification of bioactivity is proving of particular use in the field of protein characterisation.
