01 Apr 2003 - Farfield granted SBRI Award

Farfield have been awarded a grant from the BBSRC under the Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI). The grant will enable Farfield to conduct research into an area of surface chemistry which, if successful, will enable the development of biomimetric 'membranes'. This will enable researchers to use Farfield technology to study the behaviour of membrane proteins in great detail. This group of proteins is of intense interest to the life scientist and the pharmaceutical industry as they mediate in many crucial cellular processes. The project will last for two years and will be conducted in collaboration with Dr David Fernig of the School of Biological Sciences at Liverpool University.
