Farfield Group Press Releases
01 Mar 2007 - Malvern Instruments Secures Exclusive Distribution Rights in the United States, South and Central America for Farfield Scientific Analytical Instruments
Farfield's Unique Metrology Systems for Molecular and Nano-scale Measurements Complement Malvern Zetasizer Nano CapabilitiesFarfield Scientific Limited (Crewe, UK) and Malvern Instruments Limited (Malvern, UK) have concluded an agreement that gives Malvern Instruments exclusive distribution rights in the United States, South and Central America for Farfield's unique range of analytical instruments. These systems provide insight into the structure and functional behaviour of biomolecules and nano-scale materials. The agreement is effective from 1 March 2007. Farfield Scientific will continue with its existing sales and distribution arrangements in other territories.

Gerry Ronan, Chief Executive Officer of Farfield Scientific commented: "Farfield's proprietary Dual Polarization Interferometry (DPI) technology is the first that is capable of revealing the intimate relationship between structural change and function in biological molecules in real time, at market-leading levels of sensitivity and resolution. The synergy with Malvern's materials characterization systems offers exciting new possibilities to researchers in many areas of nano-materials and biophysical characterization. We look forward to working with Malvern and to supporting their activities through our US office in Pittsburgh."
Malvern Instruments is a global company that develops, manufactures and markets advanced analytical systems for the characterization of a wide variety of materials, from bulk powders to nanomaterials and delicate macromolecules. Innovative technologies combined with powerful software produce systems that deliver industrially relevant particle characterization, rheological and chemical composition data.
Farfield Scientific is an innovator and global supplier of new analytical instruments that address the emerging molecular-scale measurement demands of the Biophysics Surface Science and Nanotechnology communities. These communities provide the most demanding measurement challenges facing research over the next decade. The company's Dual Polarisation Interferometry (DPI) technology is the first that is capable of revealing the intimate and complex relationship between structural change and function in biological molecules in real time, at sub-molecular resolution. Application areas include biophysical characterization, structural and functional proteomics, biomolecular interaction studies, drug discovery, diagnostic development and biopharmaceutical analysis.
